Service Area Travelers Interactive NetworkThe Service Area Travelers Interactive Network (SATIN) kiosk project is a partnership between TRANSCOM and Golden Screens Interactive Technologies, Inc. The project will provide travelers with static and near-real-time traffic and transit information through interactive computer kiosks. The kiosks are to be located at service areas and transit centers in the New York - New Jersey - Connecticut metropolitan region. The information on the kiosks will include all of the planned and near-real-time incident and construction information collected and integrated by TRANSCOM, as well as other information. The SATIN network will enable travelers to get all of the information they need to plan or complete their trip, regardless of the number of agencies or jurisdictions involved. Wherever possible, it will also inform the public about major incidents or schedule changes, via an overhead monitor or LED visible to all passersby. The expected applications to be provided on the kiosks include:
